Giffen Gatorettes
The Giffen Gatorettes is a youth girls dance team that began as an afterschool program that expanded to a year round dance team. Coach My-Esha has expanded the group to over 30 girls as young as six years old. You can find these young ladies performing at local community events and there is always a dance competition. Practice your moves so the next time you see them in the community, you will be ready to be served!
Superhero Brunch for Fathers
This Father’s Day, AMBACC had the honor of celebrating the men who show up, stand tall, love deeply, and lead with purpose.
Our Superhero-Themed Father’s Day Brunch was filled with food, fellowship, laughter, introductions, and powerful moments of connection. Fathers and children came together through activities designed to help them learn more about one another, strengthen their bond, and celebrate the everyday love that builds families and communities.
Because Black fatherhood is powerful.
Black fatherhood is present.
Black fatherhood is protection, patience, joy, sacrifice, guidance, and legacy.
To every father who attended: thank you for showing up.
To every father who shows up every single day: we see you, we honor you, and we celebrate you.
Each father left with a gift bag, but the real gift was witnessing our community pour love back into the men who pour so much into their children.
At AMBACC, we believe our fathers deserve more than one day of recognition. They deserve flowers, support, respect, rest, and celebration all year long.
Here’s to the fathers, father figures, uncles, grandfathers, mentors, bonus dads, and everyday superheroes of the Gatorettes raising the next generation with love. 🖤

Underground Railroad Education Center
The Underground Railroad Education Center researches and preserves the local and national history of the Underground Railroad movement, its international connections, and its legacy to today’s social justice issues, thereby empowering people of all ages to be agents of change toward an equitable and just society.
Working the Waters
The Underground Railroad has shared with AMBACC the Working the Waters Exhibit. This display will be showcased throughout the months of June and July. Visit us before it's gone!
Our exhibit was such a hit that we extended it into August. Be sure to catch it before its gone.
Its important that we all learn our history.
Royal Motion Dance Team
Royal Motion Dance Team is a local dance group for youth in the City of Albany. The majority of the youth served in this group are girls in elementary school and middle school within the city. The girls not only learn dance routines, but they also learn cooperation, teamwork, accountability, and responsibility. Through their partnership with AMBACC, there is an academic focus weekly to help the team understand the power of an education, especially for their feature.
Mother's Day Dinner
In partnership with Albany's Royal Motion Dance Team, at AMBACC we hosted a Mother's Day Dinner for the dancers and their maternal figures in their lives. We held space for the daughters to express their love & admiration and invited the guardians to give the dancers life advice as they navigate young womanhood, school, and their love for dance. Toast to all the mothers! Happy Mother's Day!

Young Futures
Financial Literacy Art Program
The founder of Young Futures, James Mitchell partnered with AMBACC to offer weekly programming for youth ages 7-13 years old.
The Financial Art Class delivers lessons on financial terms and concepts, applying them to various art activities through kinesthetic learning. A healthy financial relationship is simple, but if you do not have a good foundation, it will sound like chemistry!
