Updated: 5 days ago

Happy New Year! We hope you all have started out on the correct foot, if not, that fine, you can always restart. Here over at AMBACC we wanted to update you on some upcoming programs that may be of interest to you all.

Poetry Jam Friday, January 16

Every third Friday of the month, we host a poetry jam that we invite you to. Register ahead of time, if you would like to perform, let us know. When we say it’s "A VIBE" we mean it. Check out some of the images from previous events to see how we get down. As always we look to have Queen Sha and Mark B MC'ing the event. All are welcomed, don't be shy, give it a try. Refreshments are provided and a live DJ!

Sankofa Saturdays - January 24, 2026

Join us on Saturdays starting on January 24th, for Sankofa Saturdays where we focus on our roots and heritage. It is important for us to be able to look backwards to be able to move forward. This Saturday program is for youth 5 years old to 15 years old. Not only is there a literacy component, the youth participate in arts & craft, health eating choices, construction, and hip-hop and so much more. We want to provide a place for our youth to celebrate and appreciate our history while supporting their own leadership and artistic abilities. This is a free program that is available for our children. Check out some of the pictures of Sankofa Saturdays from summer 2025.

Register today at bcdinys.org/sankofa. If you have any questions, please feel free to email us at info@alicemoorecenter.org or give us a call at 518-427-8361.

Stay tuned as we will have additional resources and opportunities throughout the year for folks of all ages. Follow us on social media to stay up to date as well!
